Analogous to the photographic process of double exposure, which is central to the Overlay approach, we can approach an evolutionary condition that, I believe, has diffused holistically throughout our entire epistemological system. I'm referring here to the binary opposition that subsumed the typology of dialectical thinking, structuralism. Starting from the genetic specificity itself, it must be said that from a taxonomic point of view our class seems predisposed to the internalization of the double process. We belong, like most multicellular beings, to a class called bilateria, defined by a body plan that is symmetrical between the left and right sides, between the two extremes of the digestive tube, or between the frontal and dorsal sides. Our sense organs, also arranged in pairs, in turn imprint a pronounced dual harmony in the regions of the brain. (Horatiu Lipot)
