SOLO SHOW Pixy Liao
Pixy Liao explores a range of relational possibilities and proposes a reversal of the heteronormative scenario in which traditionally assigned gender roles become interchangeable. The ongoing project "Experimental Relationship", spanning over 12 years is a staging of her personal relationship with Moro, her boyfriend, in which Liao creates various intimate, playful and witty tableaus that often place her in a position of power over Moro, in a subtle reversal of roles.

About Pixy Liao
Born and raised in Shanghai, China, Pixy Liao is an international artist currently living in Brooklyn, New York. Liao has participated in numerous international exhibitions including Fotografiska, Rencontres d'Arles, Asia Society, National Gallery of Australia and is the recipient of the NYFA Photography Fellowship, the Santo Foundation Individual Artist Awards and many more.
